Essential Oils to Unleash Your Creativity - What You Need to Know Now

In past few years, something interesting has happened to me…I’ve noticed that the more aligned, balanced and healthy I become (clearing eczema, getting a handle on stress, and healing my digestion) I’ve been getting a stronger and stronger intuitive tap on the shoulder to MORE FULLY EXPRESS MY CREATIVITY - TO PAINT!

WOW!

I mean, I’ve always considered myself a creative - as I kid I loved making collages, coloring and grade school art projects of any kind. There’s also the 26 year career in the advertising agency world where I wrote copy and developed creative platforms to help businesses build their brands and find their unique voice.  And I’ve always been in love with color, pattern, texture, imagery and font.

But painting?   I’ve never been to art school or painted much in my life at all.  Yet, there it was.  Funny thing is…the more and more I learned what it meant to truly nourish myself the louder that tap on the shoulder became.

Let’s just say, I had to listen to my intuition and I’m SO GLAD I DID!  Fast forward a few years and I’ve started painting!  And it brings me such JOY, and BLISS and CONTENTMENT and FLAT OUT EXCITEMENT!  I can literally get lost for hours in that creative sweet spot and want for nothing more.

Now I see how becoming the healthiest, highest version of me unleashed my CREATIVITY.

AND time spent painting makes me healthier, and being healthier makes me a PURE CHANNEL FOR MY ART.

Today I’m committed to working on my paintings…excited to share and sell my work…and fired up help other creatives become the healthiest versions of themselves so they can CREATE WHAT THEY’RE MEANT TO CREATE IN THE WORLD.

No matter what you make - if you’re any sort of artist, creative or maker you no doubt want to know some easy ways to increase your creativity, right?

Today I’m giving you a QUICKSTART QUIDE TO ESSENTIAL OILS FOR CREATIVITY!

I read recently that  Leonardo da Vinci was said to have used aromatics as a method  for inspiration and that his preferred oil of choice was neroli.   Essential oils have been used for thousands of years for their wellness promoting effects.  Read on for my top 3 oils for busting out of a creative rut plus how to use and shop for them.

  • Tangerine - the  oil of joy - Tangerine is a big mood lifter and can put you into a state of mind that’s naturally creative

  • Jasmine - Can produce a mild state of euphoria and also is known to stimulate confidence, optimism and mental clarity

  • Eucalyptus - Boosts mental activity and enthusiasm

What to look for when shopping for essential oils:

  • Choose therapeutic grade oils so you can be sure they have gone through independent testing for purity and efficacy.  I choose organic whenever possible.

  • Buy from companies that carefully source and process the natural materials with the utmost care and love for the final product.  I use Edens Garden brand and love them.

How to use:

  • Diffuse in your studio, office or work space

  • Put a few drops on a cotton ball and inhale as you work
