How to discover your authentic brand voice

If you happen to be a creative entrepreneur - I fully believe you deserve to share your creative work with the world - to step into alignment with your vision, build your audience…and move them to action.

So, I’ve gotta ask…do you feel like you’re shooting from the hip when it comes to connecting with your ideal clients, collectors, or customers?

Are you all over the place when it comes to marketing for your business...posting sporadically and randomly without rhyme or reason on social media whenever a rare bolt of inspiration hits that you think will connect with your potential followers?

Or spending hours agonizing about how to write powerful copy for your emails, promotional materials, website, or new product launches that will connect with your audience and pull them forward to action?

Maybe you're just procrastinating on trying to write content and copy altogether, and hoping somehow the issue will resolve itself?

If you've got that feeling like you're struggling, swimming upstream, and all over the place trying to figure out what you need to be doing and how to present your creative business and your work with the world...

Hang tight - THIS will help!

What is missing here, what you need, what your business deserves, is a clean, cohesive, clutter-free BRAND VOICE!

* A brand voice that's inherently connected to the heart and soul of your business and is able to take the guesswork and any confusion out of your social media strategy, promotional copy, and email communication.

* A single glimmering thread that seamlessly ties together all of the elements and customer-facing touchpoints of your business that will SIMPLIFY your life.

* A beautiful brand that effectively connects with and calls forward your ideal customers.

My own personal journey and a 25-year career in an advertising agency (plus building my own wellness company, and doing brand consulting and copywriting work), have given me the passion, the tools, and the skills to help my clients discover their authentic brand identities and build successful businesses doing the work they love.

Whether you want to begin to develop your brand yourself, or if you want to hire a consultant to help along the way - check out the quick tips below and give some thought to answering each in a way that seems most effortless and aligned for you and your business. My hope is that these prompts clear away some of the confusion to inspire and propel you along your way to building an authentic, magnetic brand voice!

1. What’s your mission? Why do you create what you create?

2. What inspires your work? What lights you up?

3. What 3 emotions do you want to come up for your audience when they interact with your work, your content, and your brand?

4. How do people describe you? Can you come up with three of these words for your creative work?

Another great thing to do at this stage in your process is put together a Pinterest board for your brand. Put anything on it that says to you ‘THIS represents my company and the work I do in the world!”. It can be colors, lifestyle photos of places in nature, or a busy cityscape or interior environment - plus quotes, colors, fonts/typography, etc.

Hopefully, these get you started. Any questions? Drop me a comment through the CONTACT tab and let me how I can support you.

Here’s to Living and Working Gorgeously Well!
